These are the terms of supply for products ordered on (Site) and/or through any web or mobile application we provide which allows product ordering (Application). La Petite Sardine offers you an online purchasing service which allows you to purchase a selection of the items available at our store from your computer. You can also benefit from promotions, gifts and exclusive offers.

The Site/Application is operated by or on behalf of La Petite Sardine®.  

Your purchase of any of the products offered on the Site/Application (Products) is subject to these terms and by placing an order for any Product you agree to be bound by them. You should print a copy of these terms for future reference. Use of the Site/Application itself is subject to our Terms of Use. Use of your personal information submitted to or via the Site/Application is governed by our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to change these terms from time to time by changing them on the Site/Application, although no such change will affect any order you have already placed with us. These terms were last updated on the aforementioned date.

1.1. Availability of the service

Please make sure that you are over 18 before placing an order on the Site/Application. By placing an order, you confirm to us that you are over 18 years of age.

*La Petite Sardine has made every effort to display the colours of the items as realistically as possible. However, the colour of the item that appear on the screen may be subject to changes depending on the quality of your computer monitor. Therefore, La Petite Sardine cannot guarantee that the colours that appear on your monitor are a true representation of the actual colours. 

Some photographs have been taken close up/zoomed in, in order for you to better visualise. Therefore, please note that on occasion, your item may appear larger on screen, than in real life. Please kindly read the description of the item to which you are purchasing, which will detail the approximate measurements. Feel free to measure approximate sizes at home.

Special offers, promotions or discounts will be valid until the indicated date or while stocks last. Separate terms and conditions for each offer, promotion or discount may apply. 

Similarly, La Petite Sardine makes every effort to ensure that the information contained on its Site/Application is complete, accurate and correct. In the event of any error, La Petite Sardine will proceed to correct it as soon as possible.

1.3. Purchase procedure

Purchases may be paid for using a credit or debit card (Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Solo, Maestro and American Express) via Stripe, PayPal or Bank Wire. Payment method other than the ones specified in the present conditions of sale will not be accepted. For payments by credit or debit card, the charge will be made online, in other words, in real time, through the payment gateway of the corresponding financial entity, once it has been confirmed that the data sent by the user is correct.

After placing an order, you will receive an acknowledgment from us that we are preparingyour order and giving you an order reference number. If you do not receive this e-mail, this could be due to a temporary communications problem in the network or an error in the e-mail address entered. In both cases, La Petite Sardine advises the user to contact Customer Services. 

Please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy the Product(s) ordered. All orders are subject to acceptance by us. We are not obliged to accept your order and may, at our discretion, decline to accept any order. You do, however, acknowledge that by clicking on the "Confirm payment" button, you enter into an obligation to pay for the Product(s). Where we accept your order, we will confirm such acceptance by sending you a confirmation that your order has been dispatched or, if you opt (where available) to collect, when it will be ready for collection (Confirmation). The contract between you and us in relation to the Product(s) ordered (Contract) will only be formed when we send you the Confirmation.

The Contract will relate only to the Product(s) which have been confirmed in the Confirmation. We will not be obliged to supply any other Product(s) which may have been part of your order until such Product(s) have been confirmed in a separate Confirmation. 

1.4. Availability of products

All orders are subject to the products being available. If, at the time the order is issued, our warehouse detects that there are no stocks of any of the products included within it, La Petite Sardine will make every effort to locate the item. If this is not possible, the user will be notified immediately. In addition, the amount charged for the unsent item will be refunded to the customer, using the same payment method used to purchase the item.

1.5. Right not to accept an order

La Petite Sardine may refuse to accept any order or cancel any confirmed order on the following grounds:

  1. In the event of a technical and/or typing error in the prices or other details of products contained on the Site/Application when the order was placed.
  2. Due to a lack of availability, as described in section 1.4.
  3. When the security systems indicate that the order may be fraudulent.
  4. When there are reasons to indicate that the user is a minor.
  5. If La Petite Sardine was unable to deliver the order to the address provided.

La Petite Sardine will fully reimburse any sums that have been paid where any of the grounds listed above arises.


2.1. Payment and currency

The prices of Products on the Site/Application are quoted in EUR.

Prices include VAT but exclude delivery costs, which will be added (at the cost shown) to the total amount due once you have selected your chosen different delivery method.

Prices and delivery costs are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect orders in respect of which we have already sent you a Confirmation.

The Site/Application contains a large number of Products and it is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some of the Products listed on the Site/Application may be incorrectly priced.

La Petite Sardine allows users the option to select the destination country before placing their order, so that they can see the prices with the corresponding taxes included. If the customer subsequently modifies the delivery address and the destination country, the prices displayed in the final summary of the order may vary.

2.2. Payment methods

La Petite Sardine only accepts payment by credit or debit card via Stripe, PayPal and Bank Wire.

Payment by credit or debit card via Stripe

La Petite Sardine accepts payments for purchases made via its Site/Application with the following credit or debit cards: Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Solo, Maestro and American Express via Stripe system.

For payments by credit or debit card, the charge will be made online, in other words, in real time, through the payment gateway of the corresponding financial entity, once it has been confirmed that the data sent by the user is correct.

Payment via PayPal

2.3. Payment security

In order to offer maximum security in the payment system, La Petite Sardine uses the secure payment systems of the leading financial entities in e-commerce. Therefore, all confidential data is transferred directly and in an encrypted format (SSL) to the corresponding financial entity. For payment by Visa and MasterCard, Mango only accepts SET transactions (Secure Electronic Transactions) using the 3D Secure international protocol, which can be identified by the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode logos. The basic aim of the Secure Electronic Transactions initiative is to guarantee the security of Internet transactions. When you make payment through the secure payment gateway, the system will automatically check whether the credit card has been activated for Secure Electronic Transactions. Next, it will connect with the issuing bank of the card, which will request authorisation for the operation via a personal authentication code. The operation will only proceed if the issuing bank of the card confirms the authentication code. In all other cases, the transaction will be rejected. We also have the GeoTrust SSL safety certificate for online transactions.

La Petite Sardine reserves the right to check the personal details provided by customers and to take the appropriate steps (including the cancellation of the order) in order to ensure that goods are dispatched in accordance with the data that is stated on the order.

You should be aware that online payment transactions are subject to validation checks by your card issuer and we are not responsible if your card issuer declines to authorise payment for any reason. Please note it is possible that your card issuer may charge you an online handling fee or processing fee. We are not responsible for this.

From time to time we may run promotions where we issue discount codes. These can be used in part-payment of the price of Product(s) ordered online, subject to the terms under which they were issued (as indicated in our relevant promotion from which you got the code). Discount codes can only be used once, and only during the period of validity stated and only in respect of the relevant Product(s) stated. Discount codes cannot be redeemed for cash.


Delivery of items purchased on the Site/Application will be carried out via CTT registered mail or MRW (Shipping Notification Email with tracking number) . Signature may be required for delivery on some orders.

*Most shipping methods are trackable, but if your order has shipped and there's no link to a tracking number, this means it shipped via a non-trackable method.

Handmade baskets Processing time : 1-2 business days processing time from Portugal, unless mention “made to order” on article description. 

Please note that during busy seasons (for example Christmas) there might be some delays in the processing of orders. Should we not have all products in stock, the order will be pending until we receive the product in stock. We will inform you if there are delays in the shipments. You can always check the stock status on the product page.

Orders can be tracked via the Site/Aplication, indicating the location of the goods at each moment until final delivery.

The delivery cost is calculated according to the delivery method chosen and the items purchased. The exact transport cost will be calculated every time an item is added to the shopping basket, and will be displayed on the order summary page that appears before the customer confirms the order by pressing the ‘Confirm Payment’ button, and before the credit card or debit card details are entered.

The delivery charges may be altered at any time without prior notice. Said change shall become effective from the moment the modification appears in the help pages and in the contract published on this Site/Application. In all cases, the delivery charges that appear at the moment the order is placed shall apply.

***During sale periods, festive holidays and the current COVID-19 PANDEMIC the delivery time may be longer than normal. 

Non-delivery : 

It is your responsibility to ensure the that the  correct delivery address is provided to us, and there is someone available to take in the parcel. If the parcel is not delivered because there was no one available to take it in, it is your responsibility to make arrangements for it to be re-delivered or collected from the delivery depot. 

If an order is returned to us by the delivery company because they couldn’t deliver it or it was not called for, we reserve the right to deduct an administration charge from any refund, or add an administration charge before re-sending. 

If the goods are not delivered due to an error by us or our chosen delivery company you will not be liable for any additional charges. 

Claims for non-delivery of goods must be made within 15 working days of despatch. Claims after this period will not be accepted. 

Damage In Transit: 

Remember to check the condition of your ordered goods when delivered. You can always refuse it or partially reject the delivery if you have any concerns with the state of the package.

Please open all packages immediately on receipt and report any damages or shortages to us by email within three working days. 

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot be held responsible for items damaged in Transit (the responsibility once posted lies with CTT or MRW).

Liability : 

We take care to pack all orders securely, and to address them clearly. However, though unlikely, it is always possible that your order may be damaged, delayed or go astray. In which case neither we nor the delivery company can be held accountable for any consequential loss.



All returns and claims must be authorized by by email within 14 days after receiving the items. We do not refund shipping cost and do not accept returns from countries outside EU. 

PLEASE BE SURE TO RETURN THE PRODUCT IN NEWUNUSED CONDITION AND INCLUDING THE ATTACHED TAGS, we do not accept returns for any non-faulty product or products that have been worn and tags removed.

La Petite Sardine® is not responsible for failed deliveries caused by the following scenarios:

  1. Customer providing the wrong shipping address
  2. Failure to receive shipments due to inability to sign for the package
  3. Failure to accept delivery due to refusal to pay customs and duties
  4. Postal Service or delivery company strike
  5. Due to the current COVID-19 situation.

In the scenarios above, we can provide a full refund on product cost after it has been sent back to us and received. But if the package is not sent back but instead gets lost or destroyed, we cannot provide a refund as our products have been destroyed due to negligence on buyer's side. 

In the rare case that your package did not arrive, and it was not for the above reasons. For example package is stolen by a third party, please contact us at  and we will investigate further and come up with a solution. 


If you made your purchase using a registered account, please send your request directly from your account within 14 business days from receiving your order:

• Log in to your account and click "Order History and Details",

• Select the order you’d like to return/exchange and click "Details",

• Check that the information has been entered correctly, fill in the Return form that appears. Specify which item(s) you’d like to return, and whether you’d prefer a refund or a Voucher to be used on future purchases, click "Request A Return " or add a message.


If you made your purchase as a guest user, or without having logged in to your account, email us your specific request at within 14 business days from receiving your order.

In your request, please be sure to specify: First and last name of the purchaser, the order confirmation number, and the the articles you wish to return. 


Once we’ve received and approved your return request, we will send you a confirmation email containing the Return Authorisation Number. The Return Request Approved email must be printed and included with the article(s) you are returning.

Once you’ve received the Return Authorisation Number, return your item(s) to the addresse indicated in the e-mail.

We strongly recommend using a courier service or registered mail in order to be entitled to a refund by said provider in case of stolen or lost merchandise. Return shipping and handling costs are at your expense, and items purchased online must be shipped within 14 days from receiving the Return Authorisation Number. The 14 days will be calculated from the postmark date.

Once we’ve received the returned item(s) and confirmed that the merchandise shows no signs of use, wear, or damage, you’ll be contacted by our Customer Service Team, who will send you proof of reimbursement as soon as possible.

Your refund will be payable with the same payment method you chose for purchase. Visit your La Petite Sardine® Account to check the status of your returns and the amount owed to you.

We are not responsible for returned items lost in the mail, customs, damage in transit. 

We do not refund shipping cost and do not accept returns from countries outside EU. 

If after 3 weeks you have not received your refund, please contact on to let us know and we will investigate further.


Unfortunately La Petite Sardine® does not accept exchanges, if you wish to exchange an item the easiest way is to return the item  and place a new order with the item(s) of your choice after get refund.

If you have any questions, we recommend you contact our Customer Service prior to purchasing. We will respond promptly within one business day.

4.1. Faulty Products*

If any Product you order is damaged or faulty when delivered to you or has developed a fault, you may have one or more legal remedies available to you, depending on when you make us aware of the problem, in accordance with your legal rights. If you believe a Product was delivered damaged or faulty or has developed a fault, you should inform us as soon as possible, preferably in writing, giving your name, address and order reference. Nothing in this section affects your legal rights. 

LA PETITE SARDINE WARRANTY – Basket bags, leather goods and accessories 

La Petite Sardine is responsible for quality defects that may occur during the manufacture after this has been assessed by the brand´s Technical Assistance. 

For warranty purposes, product maintenance or repair shall be executed by La Petite Sardine, which shall not be held responsible for the product´s incorrect repair or maintenance carried out by others. 

After analysing the product, La Petite Sardine has the right to decide on its repair or replacement with na equivalent product or its sucessor. The average deadline for returning a product to the customer is 30 days. 

The following are not part of the Warranty:

- Wear due to incorrect usage and friction;

- Cut material (by piercing or pointy objects);

- Accidents such as exposure to high temperatures, solvents, acid, water or others;

- Broken or forced latches or zippers;

- Deformed product as a result of improper storage or weight excess;

- Improper use by the owner or third parties, including incorrect cleaning of the material;

- Stains caused by contact with coloured materials and clothes that bleed out.

If the warranty cannot be applied, we shall provide a refund that will include repair and all inherent expenses. 


- Maintain your basket bag´s original colour. La Petite Sardine recommends that its customers reduce contact with materials and clothes that bleed out and regularly clean the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap.

- Do not use chemicals or solvents. 

- Do not immerse the product in water.

- Light colours may easily stain when in contact with coloured materials, such as jeans or others.

- Use a dry cloth on hardware.

- Do not use water on leather, and do not use dye that may damage it or stain the surrounding area. 


These situations are not part of the warranty:


Varnish is a very resistente material; however, just like any other material, it requires special care in order to remain shiny and scratch-free. One of the most common situations that occur with this type of material is appearance of scratches caused by friction. When putting your basket bag, leather goods, and accessories away, make sure that the varnish is not in contact with other materials that may absorb or transfer colour. 


Since crude leather is a delicate material, it may become less dense through time as a result of friction. This is a natural process and it shall not be considered as a manufacture defect.


La Petite Sardine articles are handcrafted; therefore, it is possible for pieces not to be identical. La Petite Sardine does not consider these situations as manufacturing defects.


This article includes gilded inserts finalised with varnish coating in order to protect it. However, thoughout its use and eventual wear, the original colour of these inserts may fade. Therefore, La Petite Sardine does not accept responsibility whatsoever. 


Only one gift voucher may be used per order as a payment method and they cannot be used in conjunction with other promotional discounts.

If the purchase amount is lower than the value of the gift voucher, the remaining balance will be available to the user for future purchases.

If the total purchase amount is greater than the value of the gift voucher, the remaining balance must be paid by the customer using the payment methods accepted on the Site/Application

The exchanges and/or returns policy for orders paid for with gift vouchers is the same as for all other orders placed on the Site/Application.

The refundable amount will be credited to the balance of the gift voucher.

The crediting of the gift voucher will take approximately 15 days from the date of the refund. Once the gift voucher has been credited, the user will be notified by e-mail of the new balance available.

If part of the order has been paid for with a credit card, the refundable amount will first be credited to the credit card used, and the remainder of the refundable amount credited to the balance of the gift voucher.

The balance of the gift voucher may be viewed at any moment via the Gift Voucher option. All gift vouchers are valid for one month. Before the gift voucher expires, the holder will be informed by e-mail of the remaining period and the available balance on their gift voucher, if applicable.


Nothing in these terms shall limit or exclude our liability to you:

  • For death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • For fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • For breach of any term implied by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and which, by law, may not be limited or excluded;
  • Under Part I of the Consumer Protection Act 1987; or
  • For any other liability that, by law, may not be limited or excluded.

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under any Contract that is caused by events outside our reasonable control.
